With our passion for all things Drama, we like to ensure Drama Works for you too! This academy of performing arts classes are operated by a passionate team of teaching professionals led by founder, Louisa Snelling.
Our mobile approach means that we run programs across numerous suburbs allowing more individuals and groups access to enrol in activities that are creative, engaging, and inclusive.
Our Drama Works Academy programs and descriptions for each are outlined below, followed by current locations.
Our experience with Drama Works has been outstanding. It is the highlight of my children’s week and they both enjoy the variety of experiences the drama classes offer. The boost in their confidence and self-esteem has been very noticeable.
Drama WorksAcademy of Performing Arts Programs
Each program is supported by our strength based curriculum outworked in all classes, celebrating the uniqueness and ability of each student. Our academy of performing arts programs promote strong communication skills, team work and creative thought with monitored class numbers to ensure an individual learning experience.
We believe that encouragement is the fuel to fly so we aim to engage all students in a class atmosphere that promotes confidence in themselves and their skill set.
Our curriculum is developed to inspire creativity, encourage engagement through dynamic programming and make learning fun while including one and all!
We will often write our own material during the year, showcasing the students’ abilities to script and devise characters ready for live performance. Students perform in end of year shows for family and friends.
Centred on our themes of Creative | Engaging | Inclusive, children develop vital skills through fun games and activities.
Participating in our academy of performing arts programs develops empathy, communication skills, team work, creative thought, and is guaranteed to build confidence!

*Eisteddfod and Performance Team classes not applicable to this offer.
Eisteddfod Team – 9-12 yrs
Drama Works’ Eisteddfod Team is offered as an extension program on top of regular weekly drama classes for those students that show potential and interest in the area of acting for stage performance.
It is programmed to build on existing skills taught in regular classes and aims to increase knowledge of stage craft, vocal techniques and character development by giving the students performance opportunities in local Eisteddfod competitions. This group will work closely together to understand the importance of “team” for the benefit of performance.
Skills learnt in an Eisteddfod team go beyond stage skills. The level of participation and commitment required promotes motivation, time management, self-discipline, and team work. Although Eisteddfods are competitive in nature, our emphasis is on personal-best participation, building confidence, increasing skill sets, and performing for fun.
Performance Team – 13-17 yrs / An Award Winning Team!!
Drama Works Academy Performance Team is an extension program for high school students that would like to further their studies, experience and participation in drama. The entry process is by audition only. This team is brought together to take part in the South East Queensland One Act Play Festival each year and is open to all Drama Works Academy of performing arts students aged 13-17 yrs.
This is a wonderful theatrical opportunity where students will make new friends while developing into fine performers, gaining experiences they will never forget!
Opens Performance Team – 18+ yrs
Drama Works Opens Performance Team is a program for adults aged 18 years and older that love theatre, like the idea of treading the boards and are looking for adventure. Opens Performance Team will run similar programming to our award-winning Youth Performance Team. Why let the kids have all the fun?!
There’s no audition process! Just a desire to learn and develop skills for the stage, and a willingness to take part in a wonderful theatrical experience. You are guaranteed to grow in confidence, laugh outrageously, do things you didn’t think you could, develop your abilities, relieve stress and make new friends! These are experiences you will never forget.
